Who is this energetic young woman? Her name is Pauli Luppert. Yes, Luppert. She is none other than the niece of our very own Eve Luppert. (Or, as Pauli likes to refer to her, "Auntie Eve.")

Pauli is a struggling young playwright, about to make her New York theatrical debut. And here's the exciting part: YOU get to participate! Yes, you! Remember how JayDay (which is coming up on June 21st) is all about supporting young artists? Well, make Pauli and her project your JayDay contribution.

Read what Pauli has to say:

Greetings Friends & Family,

I’m dropping a note to y’all to update you on some exciting goings-on in my crazy life.

As many of you know I’m working, recreating, breathing, and eating theater in New York. I’m still working at The Public Theater as an Assistant Theater Manager and about to start my third season managing Shakespeare in Central Park.

The latest news is that two plays I wrote were recently accepted in the New York Fringe Festival. The New York International Fringe Festival
(FringeNYC) is the largest multi-arts festival in North America, with more than 200 companies from all over the world performing for 16 days in more than 20 venues! The festival runs this summer from August 13th - 29th. (www.fringenyc.org). This marks my New York City production debut as a playwright; my proudest accomplishment to date.

The two plays are SPARE CHANGE - the story of a young advertising executive torn between her convictions and her ambition, directed by Gwenyth Rietz, and produced by Young Minds Productions, Inc. The second is an adaptation of the classic childhood novel, Nancy Drew and The Clue in the Diary, produced by River Heights Productions.

The reason I am writing is because I need a little help to make the production of SPARE CHANGE a reality. The Fringe Festival will give a great deal of support for both productions. It will provide us with a performance venue, some marketing and advertising, and of course, the use of their name and access to their huge audience. Unfortunately, the Fringe Festival does not cover the cost of rehearsal space, costumes, set pieces and construction, lights, and the like. So, I am currently working to raise funds to stage SPARE CHANGE. I’ve personally pledged to Producer Robert Gore, that I will raise $500 by June 30th. If you are willing and able to help in any way, Great! Whether you can contribute $5, $50, $500, or $5,000 your help will be enormously appreciated by me, our company of talented actors, designers, and producers, (all of whom are working on SPARE CHANGE on a volunteer basis).

We’ve set up a secure website to accept contributions at;

http://www.youngmindsinc.com/

Or you can send a check, payable to Young Minds Inc. If you would like more information or are interested in seeing a copy of our budget please contact me or Young Minds Producer, Robert Gore at robert@youngmindsinc.com OR (347) 528-7757.

And don't you think she is very good looking?

Takes after her auntie of course.

You go girl! Am happy to provide support from the city that spawned Auntie Eve and Uncle Steve in the theatre. Break a leg... my check's in the mail!
