Happy Birthday Jay

1025 was the entry code at 79 Fifth because it was the one day Jay could remember but Jay never acknowledged his birthday. "Happy Birthday Jay" was greeted with a grunt.
So...let's start a rumple by remembering Jay's birthday!
PS Steve Alburty stopped by in Rome to visit with Debbie Chiat and will give us a full report on his return.

I gave that code to so many people in my time at c/d. It brings back all sorts of fine memories.
Remember the name plates?
I remember taking them down to clean them and not putting one back up right away. The person in the cubicle thought they were being let go. I had to assure them, while holding back my laughter, that they were not being let go.
just one of my many faux pauxs.
Al the architect, The locksmith down on 14th street, The office suppliers, The car service, The bank runs for Jay's francs and the temp pay.
Sigh. I miss chiat/day and all that it represented and the people who are so much a part of my memory of my stay in NYC.
I miss the kindness of Jay and you others.
After chiat/day I was never the same.
The exposure to it's culture has continually affected my life in ways I never dreamed of even 'til this day.

Any one who dealt with Jay like myself for over 20 years could never forget his enorneous vision as well as his tenacity in accomplishing his vision. I was one of the very fortunate person who followed Jay and Adelaide in building the Virtual Office at 180 Maiden Lane and all the floors at 79 Fifth Ave
Thank you Jay in making me part of your team- Happy Birthday I miss you
