Adelaide Horton made it onto the front page of today's New York Times (see photo above.) She was on the flight that landed in the Hudson River on Thursday. She is shaken, but safe.

Thank goodness our Adelaide is ok!!! Even in a time of crisis she is helping someone out. No surprise there. Hugs to Adelaide!
Oh my God! Adelaide I'm so thankful that you are OK. When watching yesterday, I said I hoped you weren't on that flight. Please stop living life "on the edge"! You're to important to many people.
first thought i had after hearing about crash of a flight from NY to Charolette was to worry you might be on board (it appears the young blonde lady next to you was glad you were). calm and caring as always. thank god you're safe.
Saw all the photos on TV while on vacation...just
returned and was checking in to "hear" latest dish...
HOLY COW! Adelaide, you look as calm and professional as always-
you are still my heroine!

Good grief! What a girl! SO brave and composed. I must go back and check the British papers as I suspect you were on the cover of the Daily Telegraph as well - that screaming blonde certainly was. In all that zig-zagging across the country I used to do in the name of Planning, sometimes with a squeaking MT Rainey digging her fingernails into my palm by my side, I did occasionally wonder how I would cope if the Boston shuttle veered off into the sea after a particularly gusty wintery landing. (Not well was the conclusion). I can't think of a better person to have it happen to than you Adelaide. As they said about the pilot who safely landed the BA flight from Beijing on the grass after his engines froze, you deserve a medal as big as a frying pan. Mwah!
I'm guessing Adelaide really IS mortified to be the center of attention. But, oh Miz H... It's a great chance for many of us to say how DAMN GLAD we are that this incredible story had such a happy ending. And it gives us a chance to send our love to both you and John. Thank God and God bless you both!
Makes me realize how often the gang at C/D NY were like that woman next to you in the photo, howling about something while you administered either TLC or a roll of the eyes. They both worked!
Me and Virginia wishing you a speedy recovery. It's unbelievable and miracle. I think you have a nine lives like a cat. But thanks to God for saving you life, its unbelievable. Regards, Val
Adelaide,
Living in Charlotte, I saw numerous photos immediately following the crash...and when I saw this one, I thought "Man that looks like Adelaide...couldn't be..." So glad to hear you're okay! Sending positive vibes for a speedy recovery!
Back in the day, Adelaide, you used to stand up at your desk from time to time and announce, at volume and in your wonderful accent, "ChazVagt, it's all your fault!" You were always such a balancing force in a wonderfully chaotic stew of creative energy. No one I'd more want sitting beside me in a time of crisis.

My heart skipped a beat when I first heard Adelaide was on the Hudson flight. Then after reading Steve's piece on it I laughed. I do so much remember Adelaide being...well...Adelaide.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Adelaide and hoping the next time you get attention it is less dramatic.

Hi Adelaide,
It's been years since we talked, but I will always remember how much I could rely on you for honest feedback and well thought out advice.
So pleased that your"river landing" had a happy ending.
What a lifetime memory!!
