Gehry Cups 'n Saucers
Leslie Cicurel Engel was kind enough to send these to me:
Hi Steve, To my surprise, while packing up my kitchen in advance of a renovation,I found a coffee cup set from Chiat/Day days. These were given to us in commemoration of the opening of the Venice Beach 'binocular' office. Don't know if you can see the date on the back of the saucer ; it's 1991.They have a reproduction of the drawing Frank Gehry scribbled on a napkin and gave to Jay when trying to describe what the new building would look like... or so the story went. In any event, thought you and other C/Ders would get a kick out of seeing them again. I'm wondering if anyone else still has a set. Hope you are well. Best regards - Leslie

Hi Leslie, Scot and Dede! I still have mine, too! I never use them but I can't seem to part with them either!

I gave my set to my mom. She has them in her China Cabinet. I also have the pair of Binoculars that we got when we moved it...
Thanks Jay! : )

Annette and I also have a set and use them occasionally. The one I wonder about are those red bicycles we got one year. Anybody still have one if those?

I still have my set. In fact, a friend of mine is married to an architect and when he saw that they were Frank Gehry insprired, he loved them! I better check to see that he didn't steal them. What a great momento from a great time.

I still have my set in the original box with the "note" from Jay.... And those red bikes, I WISH I still had mine, I remember the day we got them, people assembled them that day and rode them around the 7th floor.

I just came across this post and had to SMILE as those babies get pulled out whenever I start longing for the LA sunshine. That building brings back many fond memories1
Greetings to all from snowy Helsinki
